What you'll be learning
We'll be making five characters using various clay techniques like Pinch, Slab and Coil. Finishing and learning how to glaze the articles. Wheel throwing is not included in this course.
Materials and Tools
- 7kg stoneware clay
- Clay tools provided in the class
- Selection of glazes to finish the articles
Session Schedule
- Session 1 - Puffer fish or Giraffe using Pinch method
- Session 2 - Chicken or Whale using Slab method
- Session 3 - Yak or Sheep using Coil method
- Session 4 - Octopus using combined methods
- Session 5 - Ostrich using combined methods
- Session 6 - Finishing
- Session 7 - Glazing
There would be a gap of 7 days between session 6 and 7 so that the articles can be dried and bisque fired.
